SHELLEY & LUKE NEWELL
17TH DECEMBER 2017
Shelley and Luke met in 5th Avenue. No, not that one! This was a nightclub in Manchester. And they were smitten with each other.
And since that fateful evening, only one outcome was ever possible, and Luke and Shelley invited friends and family from near and far to join them for a romantic winter wedding at beautiful Combermere Abbey in Cheshire.
Shelley was joined by her bridesmaids Sam, Sarah and Sophie in the wonderfully cosy Stone Lodge by the gates to the estate.
All the preparation was complete, Combermere Abbey wedding planner Diane and her staff had everything in hand at the Glasshouse and all that remained was for the girls to get ready.
It was a lovely, serene atmosphere in the lodge as Shelley and her maids got ready. And after completing their own hair and make-up, they all helped the beautiful bride into her stunning Suzanne Neville lace gown with button detail and beading around her waist.
Shelley completed her wedding look with a floor length veil.
The bride's bouquet, from Lily Rose Events, was perfect for a winter wedding with pale roses almost looking frosted. Her bridesmaids carried matching posies and wore dusky pink Alfred Angelo floor-length dresses.
Perhaps one of my favourite moments from Shelley and Luke's wedding video is the moment Shelley's dad sees her ready for the first time. You can see the pride he has for his daughter and their hug is an immensely touching moment (you can see it in their highlights video below).
The couple have two young sons who were waiting with Daddy, Luke, for Mummy's arrival. The boys wore small suits with waistcoats rather than jackets to complement the groom, best men and usher. Their eldest son was even given a buttonhole, ably assisted by Grandad, to match Daddy. Luke, his best men and usher all wore suits from Next.
Hipswing provided the harpist who played beautiful melodies as Shelley walked down the aisle to say her vows to Luke
After the ceremony, Shelley and Luke took some time away from their guests to take a few stunning photographs with their photographer Rachel Joyce and, of course, videos with Wishing Wells Creative. This gave them a little quiet time to absorb everything that had just happened and take in the moment of just being married. You can see the preview of Rachel's photographs here.
The wedding breakfast commenced and was followed by speeches from Luke and his two best men. There were heartfelt messages to Shelley from Luke but also plenty of laughs. None more-so than when best men, the two Toms, revealed a life-size cut-out of Luke from his university days!
After the meal, the couple cut their stunning three-tiered wedding cake from Finch Bakery, and enjoyed their first dance to Songbird by Fleetwood Mac - the track they also chose to have their personal highlights set to.
It was an honour to be invited to film Shelley and Luke's wedding day and I'm pleased to say that you can now watch the sharing version of the highlights from their beautiful wedding day below.
