A little about me...
Mum to two gorgeous, cheeky chappies called Harrison and Jack and partner to Darren, I decided to launch Wishing Wells Creative to be able to work around family-life... and a new-found love for all things 'wedding' was born!
Despite being professionally employed as a videographer for over twelve years, it was only when feeling ill and having to watch my toddler at the same time that the idea of 'Living Portraits' and working for myself came to life (no pun intended!).
Feeling the need for some fresh air, the park beckoned, and something made me take the camera along. The resulting video (below) was a bit of a thunderbolt moment and I fell in love with the concept of video portraits.
A true Lancashire-lass, I've never strayed too far from home - even uni was close to Manchester - and the stunning sight of majestic Pendle rising in front of my eyes as I rode home to Burnley on the X43 every weekend was awe-inspiring!
And with the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Peak District right on my doorstep, why would I want to be anywhere else?
My loves are history and shoes... well, what girl doesn't adore her shoe collection? And climbing Pendle hill.
Thanks to my mum's influence I am a big fan of Philippa Gregory's books - particularly the Tudor novels
My dream weekend away is a visit to historical York, roaming the castle walls, going on a ghost-walk and relaxing with a nice candlelit meal, and a glass of red.
Why video? Well, it's like a time capsule. Sadly I lost both my parents when they were still young and as a result only have my memories and photographs to remember them by - but, seeing a video of either of them, or my grandad and suddenly I'm right back in that moment!
I can hear their laughter and their voice, see their smile with all the personality to back it up, and just for a moment I'm back with them.
This is why it's so important to video and photograph all your family events. It doesn't have to be professionally done (yes, I am saying that) - just capture those memories - capture it all! And of course, if you do want your video professionally filmed, you know where I am.
So that's me! Please do explore my website, watch my videos and I'm sure you'll fall in love with my style too.
