ALEX & AIDAN RILEY
22ND MARCH 2019
Alex & Aidan are childhood sweethearts, having met on the school bus during their time at Ermysteds Grammar School, Skipton.
Aidan, a gamer, was finally tempted from his room by the beautiful Alex at the start of their relationship, and their history was reflected in their fun and beautiful wedding at the Coniston Hotel in North Yorkshire.
I was invited by Alex to film her wedding to Aidan having previously filmed her sister Amy's wedding day at Eaves Hall a couple of years ago.
This is such a compliment to me, and it was a thrill to catch up with the Bailey family.
Alex spent the evening prior to the wedding at the Coniston Hotel with Amy, bridesmaid Millie and her parents; while Aidan got ready at home with brother Richard, and the couple's cat Nala!
I arrived at the Coniston Hotel on the morning of the wedding and visited bridal prep, where Make Up Artist Lucie and Linzi Lonsdale hair were pampering the girls. It was a really lovely, calm atmosphere.
In the bridal suite, Alex's exquisite Pronovias gown was hanging. The dress, from Ava Rose Hamilton, was beautifully simple from the front but the intricate beadwork and jewelled detail on the back was simply stunning!
The dress was complemented with a cathedral length veil and Alex had two pairs of shoes for the occasion, silver flats to marry in, and baby blue Converse to party in!
Magnolia Florist provided the flowers in classic white and green - which also matched the theme for Alex and her bridesmaids.
Guests were arriving downstairs in Winston's Barn, and Aidan nervously waited while Alex dressed and had a few family photographs taken before walking the aisle with Dad, Neil.
North Yorkshire Registration Service conducted the civil ceremony with Alex and Aidan adding their own vows to the legal words. After the ceremony, guests mingled in the atrium, entertained by Harp music from Frank, who had also played melodies in the ceremony room.
Fighting the wind a little, a few group shots were taken on the terrace overlooking Coniston's beautiful lake with photographer Andy Pritchard, before we whisked the couple down to the lakeside for a few portrait shots.
Here, Alex unveiled her very cool personalised 'Mrs Riley' leather jacket from Born to Thread.
She suited the look but of course we got a few shots of that incredible dress without the jacket too.
Back at the reception, guests were entering the dining room ready to welcome the new Mr & Mrs Riley to the wedding breakfast and speeches followed from Neil (father of the bride), Aidan and Best Man Richard.
The evening guests started to arrive after dinner and were invited to sign the guest book, designed by Kate Illustrate, before being entertained by Viva La Booth photobooth who provided huge mascot heads and all sorts of props for the photos.
In the barn, Retro Games Party had set up racing consoles and Pacman, and of course gamer Aidan couldn't resist racing his new bride... With no mercy shown as he celebrated his victory over Alex!
The Finch Bakery wedding cake was jaw dropping.
I look at these pictures now and I can still smell all those amazing sweets.
After cutting the cake, the couple shared their first dance and were joined on the dancefloor soon after by friends and family for the party.
It was a wonderful day and I was honoured to not only capture Alex & Aidan's wedding day, but to have been invited back by the family. And now you can watch their highlights below.
I wish Aidan & Alex, and Queen Nala of course, very happy lives together!
