Alison & Lee's Love Story Has a Happy Ending

Alison & Lee have history. 20 years ago they met, fell in love, and had a daughter together, Ella, a little sister to Alison's son Michael. While they were very happy for a time, they were also young and decided that the timing wasn't right for them and it was best to part ways.

They each lived their separate lives whilst keeping in touch and remaining friends for the sake of their children. The years passed and a chance conversation about the children's holidays rekindled their feelings for one another.

Alison & Lee have been together ever since and are stronger than ever before and their love for each other, and the strength of their family, was evident to see at their beautiful September wedding at the Higher Trapp Hotel in Burnley, Lancashire.

They married in a civil ceremony in front of friends and family in the hotel's conservatory, with Alison's sisters, daughter and friends as bridesmaids and Alison's son Michael having the honour of giving her away.

Groom Lee was accompanied by his Best Man Ray and Groomsmen Mark S, Mark H and, Ian.

Alison is a very successful business woman with her own hair salon, Escape, in Burnley, and daughter Ella is a magician of make-up, so naturally the ladies had everything in hand on the morning of the wedding.

Alison and Lee had gifts for each other on the morning of their wedding before they said "I do". Lee is a keen guitarist and Alison surprised him with an Ibanez, Steve Vai Jem, Blue Floral guitar, complete with personalised plectrum engraved with their wedding date.

Lee's gift to Alison came in the unmistakable Tiffany blue box containing a delicate Tiffany 1887 bracelet and earrings, with romantic notes for his bride-to-be.

Alison's dress was a lace White Rose gown with a fitted lace-up bodice and she teamed it with a white silk shrug. Alison had two sets of shoes (my favourite part!), beautiful glittering Irregular Choice 'Nick Of Time' court shoes and pale pink Vivienne Westwood ballet pumps.

Bridesmaids wore dusky pink floor length gowns from Little Mistress and carried posies matching the bride's bouquets, adorned with jewelled bridesmaid pins. Buttonholes were pale pink roses with pearls and diamantes and the brides own bouquet was filled with pale pink, peach, creams and yellows. All fresh flowers came from Daisy Chain in Burnley. Creative Ella also had a hand in all the artificial floral decorations adorning the tables during the wedding breakfast while Alison's friend 'Lady' Jo Parr was responsible for the wedding favours.

The couple are music lovers with an eclectic taste between them and they chose this passion for their theme. Singles of their favourite artists were used for to identify tables and Lee's musical influence was clear to see in the wedding topper by ebella - his Iron Maiden Eddie groom to Alison's Betty Boop bride! The stunning three-tired, nine-layered wedding cake with fresh strawberries was made by Claire Louise Cakes.

Peter Anslow was the photographer capturing their wedding bringing his unique sense of fun to the day and DJ Buck was the man to get the party started in the evening.
